Field Service Engineers for the Corrugated/Packaging Industry
Location: Nationwide
Company Description: BRENNTECH LTD is a United Kingdom–based mechanical and electrical engineering company specialising in servicing and repairing small and medium quantity machinery for the corrugated packaging industry. The organisation is a close-knit team focused on delivering reliable engineering services and support to manufacturing companies across the UK. BRENNTECH LTD works on a wide variety of packaging machinery, working closely with clients to keep production lines running efficiently. It’s a practical, hands-on environment where technical expertise and customer focus are highly valued.
We’re seeking experienced, self-employed Field Service Engineers to work with us on a flexible subcontractor basis, supporting customers in the corrugated packaging industry. Whether you’re looking to add a reliable client to your existing portfolio or take on project-based work around your current commitments, this could be a great fit.
Work is available nationally, depending on your availability and location. As an independent professional working with us, you would be installing, commissioning, and maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment on customer sites, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime. Tasks include servicing, diagnosing faults, troubleshooting equipment issues, performing preventive maintenance, and providing technical guidance to operators and maintenance teams. You will document service activities and communicate clearly with customers about findings, repairs, and recommendations. It also requires coordinating with the team for parts, scheduling, and escalation of complex technical issues, while maintaining safe working practices at all times.
What we are looking for

- Proficiency in troubleshooting and technical support, with the ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and implement effective solutions.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance, inspections, and routine servicing to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Excellent customer service skills, with a professional approach to communication, relationship building, and issue resolution.
- Relevant technical qualifications, such as an apprenticeship or diploma/degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering.
- Ability to read technical drawings and manuals, and confidence using diagnostic tools and test equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a solution focussed approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Awareness of health and safety regulations and commitment to safe working practices; experience in the corrugated or packaging industry is an advantage.
- Full driving licence and your own vehicle
